Position Summary
The purpose of the Account Development Manager is to identify and pursue new business opportunities with both new and existing clients, operating from our Culver City, CA location. This includes researching potential brands to add to our portfolio while fostering growth with current brands. Responsibilities also involve managing the brand portfolio and promoting all collections to clients through ad hoc presentations that align with the company’s corporate image and strategy to drive new business.
Essential Functions
- Sales and Promotion: Drive sales and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility and generate revenue.
- New Business Development: Identify and acquire new brands to expand the sales portfolio.
- Brand Portfolio Management: Oversee and manage the existing brand portfolio to ensure continued growth.
- Sales Budget Management: Monitor and achieve sales budget targets.
- Brand Knowledge: Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of the brands within the portfolio.
- Client Interaction: Engage with clients regularly to understand their needs and exceed their expectations.
- Product Strategies: Develop and implement customized product strategies, with regular monthly reviews and adjustments as needed.
- Product Presentations: Create and present tailored product presentations to support sales and promotional efforts.
- Product Development Briefs: Issue detailed briefs to activate global product factories and develop necessary products.
- Project Monitoring: Track and update the status of project development.
- Development Oversight: Manage all stages of product development, including formula selection, color choices, and packaging approvals.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Keep the sales pipeline updated in various formats (BPM, Excel, etc.).
- Client Meetings: Meet with new and existing clients as required.
- Travel: Travel within the US and Canada to visit customers and to Italy for specific product training sessions, if applicable.
- Exhibition Participation: Take part in industry exhibitions.
- Expertise Development: Develop expertise in product and packaging.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Understanding of the cosmetic industry and sales experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Proficient in organizing and managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong grasp of product and business dynamics with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven track record in product development with demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a strong commitment to achieving company objectives.
- Eager to expand knowledge and stay current with industry trends and advancements.
