Position Summary
The purpose of the Bulk Production Manager is to efficiently coordinate pre-weigh batches and bulk manufacturing while ensuring departmental compliance with policies, quality standards, and GMP regulations, all within budget in our Congers, NY facility. This person reports to the Plant Manager.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the coordination of pre-weighing batches and bulk manufacturing processes for both powder and liquid cosmetics in accordance with the established master schedule. Ensure that all operations are executed smoothly and on time.
- Ensure that all departmental activities comply with company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Conduct regular audits and training to maintain high standards.
- Manage departmental operations within established budgetary constraints. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining production quality and efficiency.
- Create and maintain a detailed department schedule that aligns equipment, labor, and ingredient availability with the master schedule. Adapt to changing priorities to ensure production continuity and effectiveness.
- Facilitate training programs for department leads and direct labor personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster effective communication and collaboration within the team to achieve production goals.
- Assess and identify equipment and labor requirements necessary to meet varying business activity levels. Collaborate with other departments to ensure adequate resources are in place for production needs.
- Work closely with the Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams to ensure that all bulk products meet established quality standards. Investigate any non-conformances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Source and purchase technical supplies that support bulk manufacturing operations. Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and compliance with quality standards.
- Promote and establish an environment focused on continuous improvement. Encourage the team to identify areas for process enhancement and implement best practices to boost efficiency and quality across the department.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in bulk production management within the cosmetics or personal care industry strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Strong understanding of GMP regulations and quality assurance principles.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Ability to prioritize daily workload, multitask, and shift scope to meet business needs
- Ability to work independently, cross-functionality, and within a team environment
- Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses a strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues with minimal guidance
