Position Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician performs testing and administrative duties essential to laboratory operation in Congers, NY.
Essential Functions
- Test in-process products’ physical characteristics to ensure they meet specifications during production.
- Provide recommended adjustments to production staff based on historical data and knowledge of bulk materials and raw ingredients.
- Perform daily calibrations of pH meters, balances, and related equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure compliance with standards.
- Log samples and data into Excel spreadsheets and prepare Bulk Control Reports.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to support production and quality assurance processes.
- Retrieve documentation or retains for review upon request.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), documentation standards, and laboratory protocols.
- Assist the supervisor in implementing quality-related directives.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1 year relevant work experience in an analytical or QC lab environment, cosmetics or related industry preferred
- Capable of recording and documenting critical batch process documents.
- Familiarity with measurement scales, sample preparation, and basic analytical instruments (e.g., pH meter, viscometer, drop point tester) is a plus.
- Ability to observe, record, investigate, duplicate, and validate test methods and procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and accurately.
- Proficient in computer use and data entry.
- Strong attention to accuracy and detail in all tasks.
- May be required to pass a standard or Munsell Eye Test.
- Fluent in English (Spanish knowledge is a plus).
